About Woolly Goodness Yarns
Hello! Welcome to Woolly Goodness Yarns. I'm Jenny, the dyer behind the yarns, and just wanted to say thank you for checking out my shop!
In the shop you will find beautiful hand dyed yarns, pretty stitch markers and other useful bits and pieces like project bags and notions pouches.
I dye the yarns from my home in lovely West Sussex in the South Downs National Park, and often take walks in the beautiful countryside around me. I like to be inspired by all of the colours in nature, but I also find inspiration from everyday life. Here is the view after a 10 minute walk from my home - it's so beautiful!
Most of the yarns in the shop are 4ply weight, perfect for socks and lightweight accessories like scarves and shawls. I dye specific sock yarns, which have a little nylon added to give them the strength needed for socks, but absolutely consider these yarns for other projects too. I make sure that all the yarns in the shop are lovely and soft so that they can be worn next to the skin.
There are also some more luxurious blends available, with silk, cashmere or bamboo blended with merino wool to give something a little bit more special. They’d be perfect for a shawl or something worn close to the skin! Here's a shawl I made using my Merino Bamboo 4ply in Love Hearts colourway. It's the Nirmilintu Shawl by Heidi Alander, available on Ravelry, and uses less than 100g of yarn.
The stitch markers have become one of the most popular products in my shop and they continue to be one of my favourite things to make. I enjoy spending time choosing the perfect coordinating beads to go with the charms and love to see the markers come to life. It's a completely different outlet for my creativity to dyeing, and just as much fun!
There is also a little selection of project bags or notions pouches. I make these in small batches, and find them to be very practical things to have. The single skein project bag is perfectly sized for a cake of yarn and your needles, just right for socks! I also keep the first sock in the bottom of the bag once its made so everything stays together. I like to have a small notions pouch available to just grab if I’m heading out to keep all my essentials together. I usually have a crochet hook, some small scissors, a darning needle and a selection of stitch markers in mine.
Thank you so much for coming to my little corner of the internet - if you're interested in keeping track of what I'm up to you can find me on social media using the buttons at the bottom of the page, or sign up for my newsletter where I'll send you details of shop updates and discount codes.
